C12 Peptide: A natural and fast acting ingredient for blood pressure support

Hypertension is known as the "silent killer" because it does usually not produce any symptoms until severe damage is already done. It is the number one cause of strokes and can cause heart failure, hardening of the arteries, and kidney damage. About one in four adults suffer from hypertension and the same ratio is observed for people with pre-hypertension, the grey zone between normal pressure and hypertension. A consumer study indicates a clear interest for a quick acting blood pressure lowering product. DMV International has developed such a product called C12 Peptide.

C12 Peptide is a patented natural milk protein derived hydrolysate. C12 refers to a bioactive 12-amino acid long peptide present in the casein part of milk protein. C12 and its metabolites inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), which is a key enzyme in regulating the blood pressure.

The antihypertensive effects of C12 Peptide were demonstrated in a human clinical study at the University Of Pennsylvania, which confirmed earlier results found in previous human and animal studies conducted in Japan. A single administration of 1.7 gram C12 Peptide reduces DBP and SBP by approximately 8 mm Hg and 6 mm Hg, respectively, from the second hour through the end of the fourth hour.

A recently performed clinical trial by UniPresident, Taiwan, showed that after four weeks intake C12 Peptide reduces DBP and SBP significantly by 7 and 12 mm Hg, respectively. Interestingly, a significant blood pressure lowering effect was observed already after 1 week intake.

In the various animal and human studies, C12 Peptide did not induce any side effects.

DMV International's C12 Peptide is a science based, unique natural ingredient, produced by a patented process, with proven antihypertensive efficacy and safety. It's applicable in dietary supplements as well as functional foods such as beverages and fermented dairy products.
