Low-carb product introductions were the darling of the food industry, the press, and the consumer in 2003 and 2004. With the popularity of low-carb beginning to wane, food processors must look globally to identify the next big health trend. The Global New Products Database believes that "low glycemic" may well be the next big trend in weight control and weight maintenance. This presentation will take a look at some of the key low glycemic products on the market, both within the outside the US, and take a closer look overall at what has happened with low-carb product activity.
