Industry expectations for food engineering competency

The attributes that are required for being successful, as a food engineer in the industrial arena will be discussed in detail in this presentation. In general, the competencies that are evaluated for hiring and for progression in the industrial world center around the following: 1. Basic technical competency in the area of engineering sciences with special emphasis on foods. 2. The application of the technical competency to real world problems. 3. The ability to work as a team. 4. The competencies in the area of project management and 5. Understanding how to combine engineering principles with sound business analysis. The presentation will provide details in each of the above areas with numerous examples to elucidate the principles.
