We are proud to introduce Cheezzlers, a new taste sensation for kids. Cheezzlers are an innovation that combines the wholesomeness of cheese, the richness of chocolate, the excitement of natural tropical flavors, and vivid natural colors. Cheezzlers consist of two parts: (i) Mozzarella string cheese core with white or milk chocolate filling, and (ii) three peelable mystery-flavored "lassos" of string cheese wrapping the core. The core and lassos are colored and fruit-flavored. The color of the Mozzarella core complements its pineapple, strawberry, or raspberry flavor, while the colors of the lassos are selected at random. The carefully selected ingredients for Cheezzlers provide functionality and quality at a reasonable price. Cheezzlers are composed mainly of low-moisture part-skim Mozzarella (LMPS) cheese. The LMPS Mozzarella cheese is used because of its characteristic mild flavor and lower fat content than full fat Mozzarella. Sucrose provides flavor balance, contributes solids to the product, and promotes product safety by reducing water activity. Whey protein concentrate (WPC) binds water to prevent syneresis during extrusion and provides nutritional value to Cheezzlers at a low cost. Cheezzlers are designed for kids ages 5-10 yrs. More than half of kids aged 2 to 9 do not consume the recommended daily servings of calcium-rich dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yogurt. Cheezzlers provide a good source of calcium that often is missing from kids' snacks. Cheezzlers’ natural fruit flavors, combined with colors and chocolate filling, provide kids with a food product that is attractive, nutritious and fun to eat. Kids will love to guess the mystery flavors as they peel back and enjoy this healthy snack. In addition, parents will be happy that Cheezzlers are only made with natural colors and flavors. In a nutshell, Cheezzlers’ unique combination of Mozzarella cheese, fruit flavors, brilliant colors, and milk chocolate will provide a special and enjoyable snacking experience that few can resist.
