McCormick's multiple management board: The internal MBA |
C. FISHER, McCormick Flavor Div., McCormick & Co., Inc., 204 Wight Ave., Hunt Valley, MD 21031 Academia usually does not prepare students for life in the Corporate World. McCormick's management program, the Multiple Management Board, was started during the Great Depression and has had a long history of using active and problem-based learning techniques. Over a few years, this voluntary program can transform willing participants from individual do-ers to team players who work well within the corporate culture. The basic rules behind this global program produce a dynamic experience that periodically forces participants to work outside their comfort zone. Participants actively resolve issues between different team members and provide constant feedback while working on real projects that help the corporation. Personal growth occurs in different areas for different participants.
