The United States approach to mycotoxin regulations and advisories |

TROXELL, Office of Plant and Dairy Foods and Beverages, U.S. Food and Drug Admin., HFS-300, 200 C Street S.W., Washington, DC 20204 This paper will outline several approaches to the regulatory control of mycotoxins in the U.S., including use of safety assessment and risk assessment to develop action levels and advisories. It will discuss their advantages and disadvantages. Examples, such as patulin and fumonisin will be used to illustrated the U.S. approach.
