Consulting is a professional relationship between an expert with skills and information and a client with a problem or need. Products and processes vary widely. Processes may include introduction and trial of new internal systems in (i) assessing and achieving internal consesus on company problems; (ii) developing agreement on and commitment to long term strategy; (iii) demonstrations of production techniques; (iv) management training for staff; (v) quality assurance training for workers ; and (vi) team building for enhanced productivity. Neeeds for management consulting food industries resulting from (1) external factors created by structural transition from communism (Russia) to a market economy (European/American) and by the absence of a clear effective legal and fiscal system; and (2) from internal factors created by product and technological obsolescence and by management and worker resistance to change. Trying to place ourselves in the position of the "analyst" (consultant) we indicated responses for each situation.
